Hello! I'm Ben and I'm an ADDucator, or an Educator with ADHD.
My journey started in the early 90s when I was diagnosed with ADHD—a time when many misunderstood this neuro-exceptionality. Back then, it was often seen as an excuse rather than a genuine condition.
But I was fortunate to have a teacher who saw things differently. She provided me with the structured environment I needed, always ready to remove distractions like a pen with a sliding puzzle when necessary. This teacher was my mother, and our classroom was our home.
Decades later, as a seasoned educator, I’ve seen how public and charter schools often struggle to support neurodivergent learners. Students with ADHD and those on the Autism Spectrum frequently get lost in the system, with schools meeting only the bare
minimum requirements. I’ve consoled many neurodivergent students and their parents, who often feel out of place in a traditional school setting.
But here’s the truth: Neurodivergent minds aren’t “broken.” They just function differently from neurotypical minds. We are all unique, like different colors on a canvas, and each child has the potential for great success.
I’m here to transform your child’s math experience with a tailored approach that meets their unique needs.
For years, as a tutor, I have helped students, Grades 3-12, create and follow a study plan designed specifically for their learning style and ADHD challenges.
Learning through productive struggle helps kids figure out problems on their own, fostering a sense of ownership and accomplishment.
Instead of giving answers, I ask guiding questions that lead the child to discover solutions independently.
Could you, or someone in your life benefit from my experience and expertise?
